Can I sue for being assaulted by a bondsman? I wasn't the one on bond.

I was shot in the face with a mace gun by a bondsman. I was not the the one on bond. They broke in my bedroom window and shot me. They had no verification of who they were, did not knock on the front door, and had no warrant or paperwork stating who they were. They were looking for my husband, who wasn't there, and I didn't let them in, so they thought it was ok to shoot an unarmed non -threatening woman in her home.

As I was taught in my first law school class, “it depends”.  Assault is a valid basis for a lawsuit and you should contact an attorney that regularly handles these types of cases in civil court.  Whether you prevail in a lawsuit, depends on a variety of factors very specific to your situation.
