During a parking dispute, I struck the other party’s vehicle once with hand. What criminal charges apply?
Asked in Los Angeles, CA on August 3, 2026 Last answered on August 19, 2026I received a Riverside County Sheriff’s card with a case number after a parking lot incident. During the incident, I slapped the other vehicle once with my open hand, but I did not intend to cause any damage and am not aware of any damage. I would like legal advice regarding my rights and any potential immigration consequences before contacting the Sheriff’s Office.

I have seen Riverside prosecute cases that other counties such as LA will not. You should consult with a good, experienced criminal defense lawyer you trust, as soon as possible in order to ensure that your immigration rights are not violated.
