How do I squash a warrant for an ofp violation when I was told it was no longer active when I was off probation?
Asked in Minneapolis, MN Last answered on October 19, 2026I was released from probation and told my report had been done. I contacted the court administrator to be sure. Contacted her and she told me I had no remaining ofp. So I asked my sister to arrange some time to see my son. They are saying I violated some magic that I was told I didn’t have. How do I get rid of this warrant and have it taken care of? I am a disabled veteran, so I have a fixed income now.

You can retain a lawyer who will bring a motion to quash the warrant and get you a new court date. If a great deal of time has passed, or the judge will not quash it, you could post the bail/bond if it has been set.
If it is a "body only warrant" that means it can be only cleared by you showing up. You would have to turn yourself in, and be placed on the next morning's calendar. Your attorney would be there to assist you when the case is called. It helps if you address the warrant quickly and there is a good reason you missed court.
