Should I hire a lawyer for a speeding ticket in New York?

It depends on what your goals are.  If the speeding ticket carries points as a penalty then it very well may be in your best interest to hire an attorney to avoid getting those points that can eventually lead to a suspension.  Also if you have had multiple speeding tickets in the last few years there could be added penalties to pleading guilty to the ticket.  At the very least its always worth consulting an attorney so you know your options.
