The police made me sign a forfeiture of my friend's car and I'm not the owner. Can they do that?

They had no RAS, no probable cause, they pulled me over for a hunch and kept my friend's vehicle. Had me sign the forfeiture on the forfeiture paper. I have it says that I am the owner but I obviously am not.

If the car is titled in someones name other than  yours, you cannot forfeit a vehicle that you do not own nor have a legal interest in. Ohio is a title state. If its titled in your friend's name, you cannot forfeit his or hers interest in the car. The title owner would have the right to make a claim to recover the vehicle.
