It depends what level offense. Misdemeanor offenses likely just unsupervised probation or otherwise known as a term of “no similar violations for 365 days.” There would also be suspended jail and court costs/fines.

For a felony level offense there are a range of offenses depending on quantity and if any distribution is involved. A simple possession of controlled drug is most of the time a class 5 or 6 felony which is a presumptive probation offense. Prison time would be suspended upon conditions of supervised probation. There may be a short jail sentence with it that would usually be allowed to be served on ankle monitor if you have a job. If you have a criminal history the consequences are more severe. It very much depends on the facts of this case for better advice. I’d call a lawyer to get specific advice on your case.
