My employer is requiring a divorce decree to a common law marriage my now ex and I signed for health insurance.
Asked in Tulsa, OK | December 4, 2025I need to file for a divorce from a common law marriage that began in 2014 because my employer is requiring a divorce decree. The only caveat is he is paying the mutual credit card off, and we both have taken possession of a car each with no quarrel (we acquired during our time together). We have been separated/not living together for several months. He is already with another woman. Advice on how to proceed and recommendations? He will not give me the divorce because "its more trouble than it is worth," but I want it asap.
