Texas has statutory guidelines that cap the maximum amount of child support.  In Texas, beginning September 1, 2025, child support is calculated based on net monthly resources of $11,700.  A party can ask for support beyond the guidelines, but it is a fact-specific inquiry that must be specifically pleaded and proved.  Possible reasons for above-guidelines support may be special medical or educational needs of the child.

Unless you have children with "special needs", Texas caps the maximum amount of child support payable to any one mother of your children. The Texas legislature raises that cap every few years. A father gets what amounts to a "bulk discount" for multiple children sired by a father AND birthed by the same mother, as opposed to multiple children sired by a father but birthed by MULTIPLE mothers. Choose WISELY.
