I am in the middle of a medical malpractice lawsuit for a botched eye surgery. My current counsel withdrew. What are my options?

I had botched eye surgery and full repair surgery from a new surgeon. My current attorney withdrew without my knowledge because they didn't want to hire an expert witness and the corrective surgeon refused to write a letter of negligence against the first surgeon due to them being friends.
