Do I have a medical malpractice and rehab negligence case for permanent spinal injury?

First, my sympathies to you and your family for what your father is suffering. As his Medical Power of Attorney you have the right and duty to get him the care and treatment he needs. If he is incompetent, or otherwise not capable of making legal decisions, and you do not have full Power of Attorney, you may have to hire a guardianship attorney to help you (or another family member) get plenary authority to act on his behalf for legal matters and/or become his legal guardian.                             

In any event, potential claims - whether medical malpractice, general negligence; neglect and/or abuse of a vulnerable adult or other - must be brought within the time and manner set forth by law. The time limits (statutes of limitation) within which such claims may be brought are strict and short. If you suspect negligence - medical or otherwise - caused or contributed to your father's injuries, you should try to hire a lawyer to investigate the potential claim(s) without delay.
