What constitutes medical malpractice in New York?

After a troubling experience with my cardiologist in New York, I’m trying to understand if it falls under medical malpractice. What specific actions or failures by a medical professional would qualify as malpractice in New York? For instance, if there was a delay in diagnosing a condition, would that be considered malpractice?

I am sorry to hear about this. Medical malpractice is when a medical provider deviates from the standard of care practiced by medical providers in the community.  Delay in diagnosis can be medical malpractice, but it is not always.  An experienced medical malpractice attorney can look at records and give you more feedback.  Most medical malpractice attorneys offer free consultations to evaluate your case without charging you any money unless a lawsuit is filed and you recover money.
