I was involved in an auto accident that says I'm at fault. I have injuries and I have full coverage insurance. What should I do?
Asked in Hanford, CA on July 29, 2026 Last answered on August 4, 2026My car was a total loss, and I still need to see a doctor, but I can't find an attorney to help me. There were also some issues at the scene of the accident where I was discriminated against, and I wanted to know if that was a problem.

Personal Injury attorneys work on a contingency fee basis, so you will have difficult time finding a lawyer to represent you concerning a collision at which you may be at fault. That assessment is based upon the facts, and not what the police officer concluded. But an adverse report certainly makes finding a lawyer to look at the case more difficult. First, report the collision to your insurance company immediately and determine what coverages you have available to assist you with your property damage losses and physical injuries. You should focus first on your health and use the quickest and most direct course to get medical help, through insurance or whatever resources are available to you. Best of luck to you.
This will depend on which insurer deemed you at fault.
If you were at fault, you can use your collision coverage to cover repairs after paying a deductible. You may be able to cover your medical pay if your coverage includes that. Your policy will control your options.
