What Do I Wish I Had Known About Michigan Insurance Before My Car Accident?

Always opt for:
- Unlimited PIP Medical
- As much UNINSURED MOTORIST AND UNDERINSURED MOTORIST coverage
- Umbrella coverage protection!
In my auto injury practice, the biggest issue I see for those who have been injured in a car crash is what level of medical coverage (personal injury protection "PIP) their no-fault policy carries. My recommendation is to always carry "unlimited" PIP. Auto PIP covers several things that health insurance does not cover, like nursing services and home modifications. The other big ticket item is to make sure you carry sufficient uninsured (UM) or underinsured (UIM) motorist coverage. This is especially important when an uninsured or underinsured driver causes you injuries in an auto wreck. I tell my clients to carry no less than $250,000 per person/$500,000 per accident in UM/UIM.
