I think I was a victim of ambulance chasers. What do I do next?

Asked in McKinney, TX Last answered on October 26, 2026

I was in a car accident and was contacted two days later by a group that claimed they were providing resources for crash victims. I was immediately funneled to a medical attorney, and because I was already disoriented by the entire process I was convinced to sign a contract with them. When I recieved communication from the insurance, it included a notice that this kind of thing is illegal for someone to do. I just want to know what I need to do next to protect myself, or how to find an ethical professional that can help me.

what you are discussing is barratry.  No one should be contacting you from a law firm unless you reached out to them first.  Find a quality lawyer to take over the case (if it's a good and valid case) and collect your proof on how the first lawyer solicited you, and let the new lawyer handle that barratry.  You can also sue the first lawyer for barratry.  Ross Sears sues lawyers.
