Question: I was injured at a sporting event, what can I do?

Asked in New York, NY | March 10, 2025

I was injured during a sporting event I was participating in due to poorly maintained equipment. Can I hold the event organizers responsible for my injuries? I reported the issue to the event staff, but they have not taken responsibility or provided any assistance.

You should contact a personal injury lawyer to figure out next steps.  Most experienced personal injury lawyers offer free consultations and will review your case without charging you any money unless a lawsuit is filed and you recover money.  Usually when you are injured, an incident report will be completed by event staff and there will be a follow up telephone call.  If that was not done here, you may need a witness or some evidence to prove that this happened and how.  These are all questions that are likely to be asked by an experienced personal injury lawyer.
