An injured worker is entitled to reasonably necessary medical treatment as a result of a work accident. That is a separate matter than WC payments. For WC payments what happens is that the workers' comp doctor sets a work profile - or "light duty with restrictions." Then the employer either can offer light duty work within that profile or continue to pay the injured worker as if they were totally disabled, even though they're not totally disabled. How the employer offers light duty work can be complicated and is subject to a bunch of technical rules. If an injured worker is offered light duty work after already receiving WC payments, they can voluntarily try the work, or can wait until the employer sends a formal notice after having the doctor specifically approve the work offer. Hope this helps. Ben

If you return to work in a light duty position and earn as much as you did prior to your on the job injury -- yes, your lost wage benefits will be stopped.  If you work in a light duty position, but earn less than your average weekly wage prior to the on the job injury --  your lost wage payments should be reduced, but not completely stopped.
