I am disabled and was given LTD through 2029. It was termed & I'm still disabled. Can I appeal?

In June 2024, I went on Disability through FMLA. My doctors determined that I am disabled and was approved for Long Term Disability beginning December, 2024. I am still disabled, and doctors have found additional health concerns that limit my employment. However, as of December, 2025, The Standard Insurance sent a termination letter. They used outdated health information and never contacted my new doctors or me for updates.

Answer

LTD coverage and eligibility is based on the contract. Get a copy of the policy and an attorney can review for re-instatement.
