No.  This is America.  Nobody can make you do anything you do not want to do (usually).  You can always leave it up to a Commissioner to determine how much disability you are entitled to and keep hopefully keep the job.  You cannot be fired for filing a workers compensation claim.  However, you can be fired for misconduct.  

It would be good to know if this is coming from the employer or insurance company.

Finally, if you can no longer do the job your case may be worth more than a normal case.  This is a case by case type thing.  It might be good to reach out to an attorney on this.
