I moved in 2023. A few weeks later I notice the front entrance door to my apartment didn't lock.

The door was apparently kicked in for medical reasons for the prior tenants. However, the door frame is split, so the deadbolt doesn't lock. I never thought it was a problem until my house was broken into. I went to housing for help and the VA. I told them I was afraid to sleep after the break-in. I put a lock on the door to feel somewhat safe when I come home. Installed alarm. I sleep with a bar at the door. I am being hospitalized for ptsd from this with the VA. They still haven't fixed the issue. Now they are possibly going to try to evict me. What can I do?

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing the issues you outline in your question.

You should reach out to the Northwest Justice Project to see if they can help you. Search the not for profit online as it has lots of resources for renters.

Best of luck.
