How can I request some time from the judge, in order to find a new attorney?
Asked in Chicago, IL on November 14, 2025 Last answered on December 26, 2025I appeared last week on a motion to default on the sale of the marital property. The default is no longer but there’s a motion to enforce the sale. They also want the divorce proceedings addressed.

You should absolutely show up at your next court date and advise the Judge that you are in the process of hiring an attorney. He/She will give you 28 days to find an attorney.
