Hello, I am seeking legal representation for my family regarding an interconnected matter involving civil harassment.
Asked in Indianapolis, IN Last answered on October 30, 2026We are facing critical statutory deadlines over the next 30 to 60 days and need an immediate consultation. October 2024: My then-manager targeted my family by going to my minor children’s school to fraudulently try to cancel their registration and attempt to force them to leave South Africa, where we were on a 3-year contract. The school intervened and stopped them. October 2024: We immediately notified corporate HR. August 1, 2025: Due to HR’s failure to protect us, the manager targeted my wife with further direct civil harassment. December 2025: The employer ordered me to return to South Africa—the exact location where severe initial harassment had occurred—claiming they "needed my help." January 2026: Because the company forced an intolerable choice between my family’s safety and my career, I resigned after securing a new position. I already have an employment lawyer I am currently looking for a civil litigation law for my family. Do I have a case for a lawsuit?

Thank you for reaching out to our firm and considering us for your family's legal needs.
We appreciate you sharing your concerns with us. After reviewing the general nature of your inquiry, I wanted to let you know that civil harassment matters are not an area of law that our firm handles, so we would not be the best fit to represent you in this matter.
However, we certainly understand the importance of addressing these concerns and would recommend contacting an attorney who focuses on civil litigation, harassment, or protective order matters, depending on the specific circumstances.
You may also wish to contact your local bar association for a referral to an attorney with experience in this area.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance and wish you and your family the very best in resolving this situation.
Sincerely,
Jim Keller
