I live in Oak Grove, MN. A large branch from our healthy tree fell on neighbors yard during a storm. Who is responsible?

According to what I am finding out thru Google searches, our neighbor is responsible for cleanup on their property even though it is our tree. We received a letter from the neighbors telling us we must clean up the debris by August 16th.

Answer

Generally, the owner of a tree is liable for it falling down or losing branches that may negatively affect an adjacent property.  So, you would be responsible for taking care of the fallen branches.
