Got a speeding ticket in Denver for 25-39 mph over. Need to appear in court. Have a clean record. Should I get a lawyer?
Asked in Denver, CO | February 13, 2026I was driving 83 in a 55 and am scheduled for traffic court on March 19th. I'm 22 and have no prior offenses. Is it likely that my penalty will be automatically reduced from a misdemeanor to an infraction and fewer points? What is typical in this situation? If I get a lawyer, might it get reduced even more and avoid the need for a court appearance?
