• I feel that I was set up and provoked so my spouse could get control of property. DVO. Is this something the court would consider?

  Recently purchased a house and dumped all my savings into it. I believe that my wife and stepson planned out an argument to provoke me and take out DVO To get control of my assets/ property. Neither one helped with purchase or repairs. They locked me out and were waiting at the entrance. I was intoxicated. My stepson produced a gun and I slapped him and tried to get it. He then held me and my brother in law at gunpoint. 911 was called. I think my wife was acting the whole time. She took out papers and police arrested me without talking to any witnesses there besides those two.

• If my rights to my child were terminated by a state and I feel they were done so illegally, how can I find out?

  My rights were terminated so sge could be adopted. I wasn't aware of this and was not notified. My daughter contacted me through some friends and wants to come live with me. I don't believe the state made any effort or followed the SOP to locate or inform me. They admitted in open court they dud not publicly announce it. Since she was adopted she was returned to the state for foster care. The court told me they could do nothing. I took a DNA test and am positively the biological father. The court said they added me to the birth certificate as the father but I don't have any rights to her.

  Since the courts and DSS have allowed me supervised visits, I drive 6 hours one way to visit her 2x a month for a few hours each visit. I drove 4 hours one way to be in court for her reviews and petition for custody 9 trips in total. I own my own home. I have a bedroom for her and am financially able to support her. She is 17 now and I feel her and my rights may have been violated.

• We are parents of a one year old trying to protect her from toxic grandparent relationships. What can we do in advance?

  We live about 3 hours from grandparents. They have never respected our boundaries with our lives and that of our daughter. We want to have a pleasant holiday interaction (or none at all) and want to get ahead of things with a legal document, maybe, that all parties would sign and agree to in terms of presents, visitation(s), rules for our child, etc. We have ample reason to not trust either set of grandparents and the past toxicity is insane. We don’t want any trouble this year or damage to our child. Thanks!
