• Do I get legal representation from my old employer if listed as defendant in lawsuit with them

  I was in a minor fender bender Apr 9th, 2024, while delivering parts in a work vehicle. I was not cited at the scene or afterward. It was only later determined that I was at fault, but it was never brought to my attention. (By supervisor, or sheriff's office.) I am now being listed as a defendant in a $100k lawsuit in regard to the accident. They are making it seem like I was going 100MPH when it was under 10MPH, as seen in the vehicle's dashcam footage. They brought up my speeding tickets from 2020 and 2021. (2020 there is a 911 call from me in regard to a man pulling a gun on me, and I was trying to get to my husband's job to be able to collect myself. The cop did not take it into consideration when providing me the ticket.) I did my own research and found that the driver received a careless driving ticket in July of 2025 (could have added to the accident, since I have never been found guilty of careless driving, only slightly speeding, which I have not received a ticket since 2021.) The passenger received a speeding ticket Jan 1st, 2026, (testimony from the passenger is then questionable.) My old employer won't answer me about representation. Do I need a lawyer?

  I was involved in a hit-and-run accident. The at-fault driver fled the scene and was not identified. Police reports were delayed, contributing to claim processing delays. My vehicle was totaled as a result of the accident. I was transported by ambulance to the ER on the date of the accident, followed up with my primary care physician a few days later. Doctor documented ongoing pain and recommended physical therapy.

  I was unable to start physical therapy due to delays in claim processing and confirmation of coverage. I continue to experience pain and physical limitations. ER and ambulance medical bills remain unpaid and have gone to collections, impacting my credit. Expenses have not yet been reimbursed and were referred to a separate property damage adjuster.

  Claim has been ongoing for nearly six months with no settlement. Insurer requested FOIA records from two police departments; delays were outside my control. Insurer recently confirmed uninsured motorist coverage applies. I have been asked to complete medical and wage authorizations; insurer states evaluation will take an additional 1–4 months after records are collected. How can a lawyer help me with next steps?

  Was in a traffic collision at a 4 way stop where plaintiff claims I did not stop at a stop sign even though I recall clearly stopping. She is now suing me, the contracting company, and the corporation the contracting company did business for. A police office was called to the scene and made a police report and there was no fault determined at the time. A traffic violation was not issued for the accident. There are outrageous claims being made in the lawsuit and I am being sued for a substantial amount of money and am on a fixed income. I need help to fight this but I am not where sure where to start or how to even pay for representation.
