Compensation for child's injuries from a toy
Asked in Miami, FL | November 22, 2024My child was injured by a toy. The toy was hard plastic and broke apart, and a sharp piece caused a gash on my child's hand, requiring a few stitches. Can I file a personal injury lawsuit on behalf of my child or is there insurance? I still have the toy pieces, but I am unsure how to proceed.

had surgery two weeks ago for knee injury, WC wants me to return to work but it’s too soon. what can I do?
Asked in Saint Augustine, FL | December 16, 2025I sustained an injury at work and had surgery two weeks ago. at the follow-up, the doctor cleared me to return to work in a few weeks. Workers comp said I need to return today. They said the doctor gave restrictions, and my employer said they can accommodate those restrictions. However, the restrictions they have in place are not acceptable, I cannot do what they say I can, ie…stand and walk for up to 2 hours. Further, I have asked them 5 times to send permission in writing from the district that I can return to work while taking oxy, they have not. They said the doctor said I don’t have to take it if I don’t want to, but I need to take it for pain. I sustained these injuries 6 months ago and needed surgery much sooner, but they made me wait until they exhausted all options before surgery. I accepted this delay without complaint. They forgot to send me to PT and went a month without it, I accepted that as well, but this is a bridge too far. Do I have any legal recourse? Thank you.
