Do I get legal representation from my old employer if listed as defendant in lawsuit with them
Asked in Kissimmee, FL | March 20, 2026I was in a minor fender bender Apr 9th, 2024, while delivering parts in a work vehicle. I was not cited at the scene or afterward. It was only later determined that I was at fault, but it was never brought to my attention. (By supervisor, or sheriff's office.) I am now being listed as a defendant in a $100k lawsuit in regard to the accident. They are making it seem like I was going 100MPH when it was under 10MPH, as seen in the vehicle's dashcam footage. They brought up my speeding tickets from 2020 and 2021. (2020 there is a 911 call from me in regard to a man pulling a gun on me, and I was trying to get to my husband's job to be able to collect myself. The cop did not take it into consideration when providing me the ticket.) I did my own research and found that the driver received a careless driving ticket in July of 2025 (could have added to the accident, since I have never been found guilty of careless driving, only slightly speeding, which I have not received a ticket since 2021.) The passenger received a speeding ticket Jan 1st, 2026, (testimony from the passenger is then questionable.) My old employer won't answer me about representation. Do I need a lawyer?

I have improperly filed mechanics liens placed on my property in Orlando, Florida. How do i resolve/remove legally?
Asked in Orlando, FL | May 22, 2026A contractor submitted 2 separate Claim of Lien on my property beyond the legal time frame of 90 days after doing the work or providing materials. I was never properly notified legally within the 15 days via certified/return receipt mail. The liens are not properly filled out, either leaving necessary spaces blank, or with a N/A placed in them. They are notarized, but I do not know if they are legally notarized because of the blank spaces. Also, I believe a construction person who completes work that requires the proper licensing to complete work on a property is the only one that can place a lien for that type of work on the property if they feel they were not properly compensated, or had some dispute. This person does not have a license of any sort. When the work required proper licensing by law, he sub contracted the work to a proper party. Since he did not list anything for his disputed work or materials/supplies, I do not know what he is claiming, nor the dates of work. Any work that was furnished is well beyond 90 days. What is the most cost effective way to remove these improper liens to clear my title?

City construction caused a crack or leak in sewer system causing property issues. What do I do?
Asked in Sarasota, FL | December 26, 2025I acquired a condo and there were no issues with the unit until the City of Venice commenced a capital improvement project on a sewer lift station (which should have only been 2 weeks) sitting adjacent to my condo unit. Work completed several weeks later. Replacement of a new gravity pipe caused a crack or leak on a shared vent branch in my unit. HOA and City of Venice are avoiding responsibility. Owner left with sewage gases and pressure issues unresolved.
