Low income or pro bono representation
Asked in Cleveland, GA | April 18, 2026I have recently discovered that I have criminal charges that have been dead docketed in two counties in GA. I am a resident of NC and work in a Substance Abuse Treatment Facility. I recently applied for my CADC licensure and was denied due to active warrants in GA. Issues are with Drug Court and Probation Violation. This was a very different time in my life, and I had a very short criminal history. After surviving a DV case with my former husband (children included), I kind of lost my marbles for a minute. I know this is a long shot, but I am wondering what legal help with my cases would be available at low cost or pro bono. I have been to in-patient rehab, and am of service to my peers/addicts.

How do you begin a personal injury claim?
Asked in Atlanta, GA | November 22, 2024I slipped and fell at a grocery store a couple days ago due to a slick floor with no warning signs. What should be my first steps in pursuing a personal injury claim? The fall injured my wrist, and I had to visit the emergency room. I took photos of the area but it just looks like a shiny floor.

My son was fired for situation that derived from Epilepsy. The company was aware of. It has been over 180 days. Is there anything that can be done?
Asked in Calhoun, GA | February 15, 2026His epilepsy causes memory loss, and he had 1 incident where he failed to let them know when he pulled a muscle. Which, for one, he had no remembrance of and did not really realize he pulled a muscle, since he unloaded boxes for a living, sore was sore most nights, then a second incident concerning an ankle issue they were aware of. Still, they said he should have told them about it before leaving. Again, his memory issue was the reason he didn't say anything, and the fact that they knew of this prior. He did have one valid incident. Which usually would not have ended in termination. His boss expressed regret that it had exceeded the requirements.

Verbally confronted and questioned aggressively in Krogers, do I have a case?
Asked in Atlanta, GA | February 9, 2026I visited my previous Kroger store location, where I had worked prior to being transferred. While inside the store, I was verbally confronted and questioned aggressively by the administrative assistant, who asked why I was there. This interaction felt hostile and unprovoked. I immediately reported the incident to my union representative. However, I felt that my concerns were dismissed. I was told not to worry about it and was advised not to write a statement, which made me feel as though my side of the situation was not being taken seriously. The following day, I was suspended based on allegations made by the same administrative assistant, who claimed that I had a gun and that I cursed at her. These allegations are completely false. During a separate interview with my union representative, the administrative assistant contradicted her own claims by stating, “I didn’t hear what he said; I couldn’t make out what he was saying.” Additionally, management was unable to provide any video evidence showing me with a gun. The footage they reviewed actually supports my statement and shows that I did not have a weapon. Given these facts, I believe these accusations are unfounded.

My son is currently being held in jail on an assault charge in Effingham Co. GA. I'm in PA. Help
Asked in Savannah, GA | March 25, 2026He was arrested in Oct. 2025. He is being held on a domestic violence charge for fighting with his wife. He had a 2nd hearing on Monday: They offered him 5 yrs. in and 15 probation. He has no money, no family there....no hope. He has a record, but has never been charged with anything like this. The lawyer he has is actually doing nothing to help. I don't know what to do, and I also have a very limited budget.
