I am disabled and was given LTD through 2029. It was termed & I'm still disabled. Can I appeal?
Asked in Middle Island, NY | February 14, 2026In June 2024, I went on Disability through FMLA. My doctors determined that I am disabled and was approved for Long Term Disability beginning December, 2024. I am still disabled, and doctors have found additional health concerns that limit my employment. However, as of December, 2025, The Standard Insurance sent a termination letter. They used outdated health information and never contacted my new doctors or me for updates.
