Someone out of state who is having an affair with my spouse got an order of protection based on lies. What can I do?
Asked in McHenry, IL | January 4, 2026I hired a private investigator to make sure his spouse knew of his extramarital affairs. Shortly after that he took out an order of protection against me. Claimed that a window in his office was shot out. Again I live in a different state. He also said I have the financial capacity to hire someone to do my bidding for me. Is there any civil action I can take against him? Based on his lies.

Child protective agency removed my child from my house when I was in the hospital. Need advice for what to do next
Asked in Rockford, IL | May 28, 2026Child protective agency removed my child from my house when I was rushed to the hospital where I was having seizures. My child was with the neighbors until my fiance came home to take care of him. I was not given any paperwork to why or anything that was going on. Now cps is trying to tell me that I have to follow the rules for me to get my son back. No charges or anything to that matter has been filed, so I would like to get some advice on this matter.
