My neighbor filed a restraining order against me and I in return on them, I had not yet served them with.
Asked in Yuba City, CA | May 29, 2026We had gone to court for their restraining order on me and asked that both cases be as one. So, court dated was changed to merge both cases together. I had not yet served the other party my restraining order against them. In the court document that I was given after court with the new court date ( CH-116 Order on Request to continue Hearing) section 6 Serving (Giving) Order to Other Party; (C-Court) is marked number 1- Further notice is not required. So, my question is do I still serve them my restraining order?

Someone out of state who is having an affair with my spouse got an order of protection based on lies. What can I do?
Asked in McHenry, IL | January 4, 2026I hired a private investigator to make sure his spouse knew of his extramarital affairs. Shortly after that he took out an order of protection against me. Claimed that a window in his office was shot out. Again I live in a different state. He also said I have the financial capacity to hire someone to do my bidding for me. Is there any civil action I can take against him? Based on his lies.

What kind of lawyer can help enforce guardianship of an adult on the spectrum and in a court-supervised group home?
Asked in Port Saint Lucie, FL | July 8, 2026Nineteen-year-old autistic female was placed in a group home by the “drug” court in Florida. Parents have guardianship over her and want her to come home after she “serves her time.” The court’s liaison is blocking it because an answer the female gave was misinterpreted at the group home as there may be possible danger to her at home. Nothing could be further from the truth. What kind of lawyer best handles this situation in Florida?
