I think I was a victim of ambulance chasers. What do I do next?
Asked in McKinney, TXI was in a car accident and was contacted two days later by a group that claimed they were providing resources for crash victims. I was immediately funneled to a medical attorney, and because I was already disoriented by the entire process I was convinced to sign a contract with them. When I recieved communication from the insurance, it included a notice that this kind of thing is illegal for someone to do. I just want to know what I need to do next to protect myself, or how to find an ethical professional that can help me.

My ex employees are stealing my clients and getting into my social media and Excel, getting all my clients' information
Asked in El Paso, TXI had to fire a couple of employees because I noticed they were planning on leaving me and stealing all my clientele. They took pictures of all my binders and everything. After they left, they were knocking door by door to all my clients and offering them the “same service” for less money. I don’t know how, but they got into my social media and Google Documents, and they are still getting my clients. I’m about to close my shop because of it.

Can my ex sue me over things he has paid for over the course of relationship?
Asked in McKinney, TXWe met four years ago, and quickly became a couple. Over time, it became abusive and messy and toxic, which is the reason why I ended our relationship this last month. Unfortunately, we have one month left on our shared apartment lease and are living that out as well we can. As far as I am aware, I am not responsible for a lot for his debts regarding his credit cards, his car, or the loss of savings during the relationship. His abuses have escalated to threatening me with court whenever I disagree. I am responsible for a lot of what he's asking for. While I am more than willing to pay shared household bills, I have missed over the last four months due to job issues and move-out costs, he seems to think I owe him more, and he is actively pressuring and scaring me into paying more than I am responsible for. Can he take me to court?

Myself and others have been scammed by a software development company. What type of lawyer would help with this?
Asked in Sugar Land, TXThe company is headquartered, registered in Texas, but after being scammed, you find that mostly all of them are overseas. Everyone who has dealt with them has the same experiences: contract breach, no final delivery on the product, and no further contact from the company after spending thousands. The latest person they scammed is from 3 weeks ago, and judging by reviews, it looks like everyone has been submitting complaints to Texas Attorney General and FTC.

Our property is deeded under my and my husband's name. How important is it to change that since my husband has passed away?
Asked in Corpus Christi, TXWe have two properties under our name. My primary residence is the home where we live, and the second property belongs to my son, who has paid for it since the purchase and has maintained it for about 14 years. We put that property under our name because his credit was not great at that time. My husband has passed, and I need to know how and when I should remove my husband's name from the deeds since he is no longer alive.

I am an owner of a property of an undivided interest with my two other sisters.
Asked in Bastrop, TXMy grandparents died, and they were survived by their son and my mom. My mom died, so my uncle decided what everyone got, and he had a partition deed. I didn't really want to sign it, but I did in the agreement that he'd give me $60,000 in June. But then he said he couldn't, in case my daughter came back and sued him. Now he's asking to borrow small amounts, like $100 here, a couple hundred there, and said I had to take $20,000 less. It's not a binding thing. It's just an amendment to the partition deed, but he didn't honor his part. So my two sisters and I already own the house, and I want my sister to buy me out, sell, or pay us rent, and she refuses. She's been living out there with her adult kids, and she won't even let us stay out there or go out there. What can I do in this situation, because I'm struggling, and I need cash to help me get on my feet.
